BackWhen 150 of the finest Rummy players reach the World Rummy Championship Grand Finale in Sochi, Russia they’re in for an adrenaline-fuelled game of Rummy that will decide who will be the World Rummy Champion!
So, here’s how the action will unfold in the WRC Grand Finale!
All finalists will start with an equal number of chips at the beginning of the game. Each player will have 4,800 chips to start their game.
The Grand Finale tournament will take place over 2 days as shown below :-

Each Round will consist of 2 Sessions:
Session 1: 6 Deals
Session 2: 6 Deals
Shuffling of players will take place across tables after every 6 Deals. This shuffling will be done on a random basis.
The players will be ranked based on the stack of chips remaining after each round. On the basis of the rank cut-offs, players will qualify for subsequent rounds.

For instance, Round 1 starts with 150 players, with each player having 4,800 chips. To be eligible to play the next deal - the players should have at least 800 chips.
At the end of Round 1 , the top 132 players who have at least 1,600 chips will move into Round 2. The players will be ranked on a leaderboard throughout the course of the tournament and these scores will also be visible to them.
The scores obtained and the chip stack accumulated in each round will get carried forward to the subsequent rounds. After Round 1, a lunch break of 2 hours will commence, after which the game will resume based on the rules as mentioned above.
At the end of Day 1 - there will be a maximum of 90 players who’ll be eligible to participate in Day 2. However, this number could also be lower than 90 depending on how the game unfolds.
At the end of Round 4 on Day 2 - the 6 finalists with the highest scores, will move to the Finale table.
Before the Finale, the scores & chip stack will be reset.
